SUPPORT WORKER LANDSCAPE
NORTH WEST LONDON

Health Education North West London funded this study as part of a larger project about the support workforce in North West London.

The aims of this study were to:

• Consider the implications and opportunities for Allied Health services with regards to support workers.
• Identify current support worker roles in services, education, training and continuing personal and professional development undertaken by support workers in Allied Health services and what the career opportunities are for support workers in Allied Health services.
• Identify any opportunities for new roles for support workers in Allied Health services.

A REPORT FOR HEALTH EDUCATION THAMES VALLEY

Health Education Thames Valley commissioned AHS to undertake this study into the effectiveness of Health Education Thames Valley’s (HETV) investment in foundation degrees. It sets out the current policy background to education and training for unregistered healthcare support workers in England, the approach to collecting the evidence as to how effective HETV’s investment is, the main findings from the interviews and the conclusions and recommendations for HETV to consider.
